A longtime close friend of mine (and a former white collar crime detective, now a self-employed professional who protects “prominent people”), sent this to me for my review and benefit. It is one of the most brilliant, and almost undetectable methods of crooks robbing your purse, luggage, computer, etc., I’ve ever seen! It’s almost seamless. If I were a thief, this would be in my best practices top drawer.
What did you think of this video? Was it helpful? Am I being somewhat overly dramatic? Is this information going to put you in a heightened state of protecting your belongings? Are you going to ask me to send you a check for the time you think you wasted?

Ingenious. But wouldn’t it be easily thwarted by just tying a bit of string or something to the bag and oneself, essentially connecting the owner to the bag at all times? If someone tries to walk off with it then one would feel a tug and boom, their cover is blown. Or a bell might work nicely as well. Surely a contraption like that would cause something to jingle. Ultimately I’d be more disturbed to live in an area where one had to worry about people pulling off such things then the tactics themselves.
Good thinking David. It might actually come under the heading of common sense. That said, there’s nothing common about common sense! As to your last sentence, sadly, we all live in that area. It’s called planet earth.
I enjoyed watching this. I knew about this trick, but I didn’t know how it was accomplished. It is good to be reminded that there are people around us trying to trick us into giving up our integrity and rights too. Listen to a politician, “We believe in the long view. We believe in change, but gradual change.” Is that not “Satan’s” plan of the slippery slope? Just accept this small cut in services beCAUSE the deficit is hanging over us … just pay a bit more in taxes … just accept lower wages. Once the “cause” was war. When I firsts aw this video, I was determined to share it with those I care deeply about, which of course includes you. G-D forbid any one of them should fall prey to this and I didn’t alert them when I could have. I’ve done my part!
